Frequently asked questions

How is this different from other song-request apps?

Most request apps are just a digital tip jar with a queue. Plyst also stores your charts and lyrics so you can play what's requested immediately, automatically ranks requests by tips and demand so you always know what's next, and lets your bandmates follow the same live queue from their own phones.

Does my audience need to download an app?

No. They scan a QR code with their phone camera and a web page opens instantly — no app, no signup, no account.

Does Plyst take a cut of my tips?

On the Free plan, Plyst takes 10% of your tips. Subscribe to Plyst Pro and keep 100% — Plyst takes nothing.

Are there any processing fees on tips?

Yes. Tips are handled by Stripe, which charges a standard processing fee of roughly 2.9% + 30¢ per tip. As the performer you cover that fee, so your audience is charged exactly the amount they tip.

Can I import my existing songs?

Yes. Plyst imports OnSong and SongbookPro .backup files, so you can bring your whole catalog with you.
